Wedding Fair At the Hodson Bay

August 30th, 2010

Wedding Films Ireland exhibited at the Hodson Bay Wedding fair on Sunday.

It was a really busy day even and glorious sunshine at the Hodson Bay Hotel located on Lough Ree. The Hodson Bay is one of Westmeath’s most popular wedding destinations. It was great to see so many of our fellow wedding suppliers and have a chance to have a chat. Usually when we work together on wedding days it is very busy and we don’t get much opportunity for chatting & catching up!

Wedding Fair Suppliers

Photographers PJ & Brenda McCormack from Moate had some of there fabulous work on display, we have worked with them on weddings previously and are always delighted to meet up. Musician Claire Sheerin who sang at the Saturday we filmed in Mullingar the day before was also performing in Athlone. My favourite indulgence “Cakes by Una” were also there! Una’s chocolate biscuit cake is my wedding fair weakness!! Unfortunately by the time our stand was quiet enough for me to take a trip around to visit the biscuit cake was all gone!! It’s probably just as well our paths will cross quite a bit between now and the end of November :-) It was the first time I met the team from Calla Flowers who were responsible for the beautiful arrangements for Brian & Amy’s wedding day – really lovely girls and beautiful arrangements.

Wedding Day Music

Along with Claire Sheerin there were a few DJs and bands exhibiting. The Bentley Boys did a showcase but we missed it there was so much going on. We spoke with couples from Dublin and Galway who had travelled to see them in action so hopefully they were worth the trip.

Wedding Fairs coming up:

Wedding Films Ireland will be at the RDS next weekend the 4th & 5th in September. We will also be at the County Arms, Birr on the 19th of September and on the 26th of September at Glasson Hotel. We are filming a wedding there the day before we might just check in!

We love this time of year when we meet so many couples at planning stage looking to the future.  Best of luck to you all, Louise & Trish

Kilronan Castle Bride to be, Wedding Music

August 12th, 2010

Wedding Films Ireland are delighted to be returning shortly to film a wedding at Kilronan Castle. Speaking with the bride to be yesterday we had a great discussion on selecting wedding music for the Church. There are so many very talented singers and musicians to choose from that sometimes making the final decision can be very difficult.

Wedding Music

Whatever choice you make, when selecting your wedding music, really sets the tone for your wedding day. Last year at a lovely New Year’s Eve wedding a guest of the brides sang a traditional Maori song as the bride walked up the aisle creating a lovely memory. Recently we had the pleasure of hearing soprano Joanna Fagan sing at a Summer Wedding. I think it is safe to say that many of the guests attending would have paid for the privilege of hearing the fabulous wedding music that day.

Soprano singing however isn’t for everyone so make sure you really enjoy your wedding music. After all your special memories will have your song selection as the backdrop!

And Wedding Films Ireland will be there to record your wedding music for posterity!!
